Dave taking a rest on the Pennine Way sign

We only had a short walk of 9.60 miles today, so we set of at 9.15. We were soon over the hill to Gargrave and stopped at The Dalesman Café for coffee and a florentine. Refreshed we were off again over the rolling fields and more stiles, passing lots of sheep and cows. We walked along the riverbank past Airton where we saw some Oystercatchers, one we think guarding the nest while the other circled overhead. Just before the end of our walk, we had a steep road climb up through Hanlith before going back onto the hillside and dropping down into Malham, which was very busy today. We arrived at Beck Hall at about 3pm and had a delicious cream tea and rest before showering and changing to go out for dinner & a Timothy Taylor or two. We are looking forward to our rest day here tomorrow so will be in touch again on Friday.

Ta-ra for now Mo & Dave.
